Like or dislike her policies, there is no question Ms. Gould is smart, well-spoken and experienced. This is not her time yet, but she has managed to get national recognition. She raised a lot of money and has been on the campaign trail day and night. Give her props for putting herself out there. It's hard work to be criticized, sometimes just out of hand or rudely, every day on social media, or on media sites like this one.

Emotions are running pretty close to the surface right now but I sure understand the drop in Gretzsky's popularity. In a hockey game representing our sovereignty, Gretzky comes onto the ice in a blue suit, no Team Canada jersey, not even a Canadian lapel pin, gives the US players thumbs up, and barely gives his Canadian team notice. Why? To keep his friend Trump happy, Gretzsky didn't show too much affection to Canadian players? He behaved like so many in the Trump clutches - don't upset Donald. Sorry, Wayne. You should have worn a Canadian jersey, you should have spoken to the public about their concerns. You're a big boy. You don't need anyone else speaking for you. And, by the way, what was with the caps you gave the team? Be great. (Are they recycled Maga hats?)

I am so glad the City.is reviewing snow removal, removal being the operative word. The workers did a great job, considering the amount of snow. Main roads were passable fairly quickly, mostly. Too many side streets were left in terrible shape for too long, My concerns are: the lack of complete clearing at bus stops, leaving people hidden in snow tunnels and forced to walk on the street to even be seen by a bus, especially leaving students and seniors at great risk; the lack of complete clearing at schools and crossings, including high snow banks which left children vulnerable; and the painfully slow removal of snow banks everywhere in the City. I am sure the working group is aware of these problems. More equipment and contractors with ample equipment are needed to keep us safe. Please.review whatever is necessary for safety sake.

Weather aside. Short campaign aside. The majority of voters spoke and the conservatives won fair and square. Sadly, if the progressive parties don't merge, or we don't move to a proportional system, voters will never feel they have a chance to make a difference in this riding - and they will continue to simply not vote. I don't know who will seriously help the system change. We need some enthusiastic champions who are willing to work extremely hard to make it happen.

Congratulations on running. It is a tough job to beat the PC's in this area. Next time!

This is terrible news. With the cutback on international students - and the fact that the Ontario government is dead last in $ for higher education - this has such a terrible effect on so many. It hurts our overall economy too, of course.

I remember Windover from Mariposa. She was wonderful. It's so nice to see her moving forward with her career.

And we think we have problems! (Tongue and cheek). It is amazing how animals and plants do survive year after year, albeit some seasons fewer in number for some species. Among other lessons, this article is a wonderful description of how plants and animals depend on each other and, maybe shows how predators could win when there are difficult times - coyotes waiting to pouch on hungry beavers. Humans, IMO, arenot be as adept, or prepared.
