The City of Toronto was warning commuters Sunday that some TTC routes were being impacted by heavy snow and urged riders to check for service alerts before heading out.
Trains on the above-ground sections of the subway line were being hampered by the significant snowfall.
As of around the noon hour, the TTC said there was no subway service on Line 1 (Yonge-University) between Bloor-Yonge and Lawrence due to weather conditions.
Over on Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth), there was no service between Woodbine and Kennedy, also due to the weather.
Shuttle buses were being sent, the transit service said.
Elsewhere, detours, delays and temporary suspension of service appeared to be the order of the day on bus and streetcar routes.

Collisions, blocked tracks, an emergency alarm and other operational issues were also to blame with frequent service alerts being published to social media.
With heavy snow moving across the city, the TTC said it was implementing plans to keep customers and employees safe while delivering "as much reliable service as possible".
"Extra TTC employees and maintenance vehicles are deployed throughout the system spreading salt and clearing surfaces of snow, keeping signals, switches, and overhead power operating, and attending to any weather-related challenges," the transit service said in a social media post.

Meanwhile, Toronto's libraries were closed on Sunday due to the storm and will remain closed on Monday for Family Day.
