Amid ongoing construction, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has announced the 510 Spadina streetcar is expected to return in March 2025.
The service was suspended as part of infrastructure upgrades to overhaul the Spadina streetcar right-of-way and the loop within the station. Replacement busses will continue to run in place of the streetcar service.
On Friday, the TTC said the construction work between King Street and Queens Quay is officially completed.
Overhead work between Bloor and College streets is still ongoing.
"Crews encountered unexpected challenges and need extra time to remove and replace hundreds of metres of rail, bolts and anchors," the TTC said in an update. "We’re looking to speed up where possible, but we are taking advantage of the new timeline to install new gate arms north of Sussex to prevent unauthorized access into the tunnel."
The #TTC has updated the project timeline for our work along the Spadina right-of-way and the loop within the station.
