Toronto Raptors fans will have the opportunity to celebrate the franchise — and maybe even shake hands with the NBA team's players — at the newly announced "Raptors Fan Day" in February.

Branded as "the ultimate Raptors experience," fan day will allow admirers to watch a player showcase, participate in giveaways and purchase discounted merchandise on Feb. 1.

At the all-ages event, Raptors players will participate in a showcase with three teams competing against each other in different skill and drills challenges supported by the Raptors coaching staff. During the showcase, three lucky fans will be called onto the court to engage with the players as they compete.

The showcase will conclude with a face off between Raptors rookies in a surprise competition.

Fan day will also feature on-court contests for more than 100 attendees who will compete for Canadian Tire and Raptors prizes.

Of course, the Raptors mascot will also be in attendance, alongside other team mascots and dancers from the North Side Crew, to hype up the crowd.

During the day, the NBA team said select fans will be chosen for a "surprise-and-delight experience" that includes a chance to meet select Raptors players.

A few unspecified "fan-favourite" Raptors alumni are also slated to be in attendance. Select fans will have the opportunity to meet the Raptors alumni on a first-come basis, the team said.

The Larry O'Brien trophy will be at the event and available for a photo-op with select fans.

Raptors merchandise will be 20 per cent off on Feb. 1 and concessions inside Scotiabank Arena will also be discounted, including $3 popcorn, pop and hot dogs.

Tickets to "Raptors Fan Day" are already on sale with prices ranging from about $30 to $60.

The Feb. 1 event will last from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
