A Toronto mom says she plans to pay down her mortgage after winning $350,000 from an instant lottery ticket.
"I was so excited, I couldn’t sleep for two nights!” said Xiao Dong Li, a mother of two, after winning the Instant Crossword Extreme top prize, valued at $350,000.
Li told lottery officials she likes playing Instant Crossword Extreme because she likes the challenge of solving puzzles and looking for all the words.
She bought her winning ticket for $30 at Lucky Discount Variety on Bloor Street West.
“I was playing my ticket and noticed that I had uncovered many words,” she said at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where she picked up her winnings.
“I used the OLG app to check my ticket, and when I saw the prize amount on the screen, I was in disbelief."
Li told lottery officials she plans to use the winnings to reduce the mortgage on her home.
