Downtown residents needing supplies or something to do on Family Day will have options — provided they are able to dig themselves out after Sunday's snowstorm.
While banks, government offices, the LCBO, Beer Stores and libraries are closed, several retail outlets and activity destinations are set to open on the holiday Monday.
Readers may want to check ahead to see how badly this weekend's accumulation of snow has impacted Family Day operations at their destination of choice.
A number of Toronto malls will open, including the Toronto Eaton Centre, which will operate under its holiday hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Some of the major grocery chains with downtown stores are also set to open, including Loblaws on Carlton Street from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Farm Boy at 11 Queens Quay E. from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Farm Boy at 777 Bay St. from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Select pharmacies as well as restaurants and cafes are typically open on the holiday.
