The city is offering more than 30 types of camp programs at more than 140 locations.

Families eyeing a city-run summer camp spot for their child are being urged to explore Toronto's new recreation registration system, then create an account and make a wish list before registration opens on Feb. 5.

The city is stressing that under a new registration and booking system launched in November, most residents will need to set up a new account, even if they had one in the old system, using email and a password at the online registration and booking page.

The city offers traditional day camps as well as sports, arts, indoor, outdoor and nature-based activities from early July to late August for children and youth ages four to 16, according to a release.

There are more than 30 types of camp programs at more than 140 locations, which can be viewed on the city’s CampTO webpage.

There is also CampTO Plus at community centres and Toronto History Museums, with specialized camps focused on arts, the circus, creative writing, sports, magic, nature, drama, dance, science and French.

Adapted programs for young people with special needs or a disability are also available. More information can be found at this link.

Counsellor-in-training (CIT) programs are being offered for youths age 13 to 16, with participants getting a supervised placement in a city summer camp.

"When registration for CampTO summer programs opens at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, the fastest and easiest way to register is online," the city said.
