Toronto hospitals rang in the new year by announcing the first babies born in their wards after the clock hit midnight on New Year’s Day.
North York General hospital congratulated the O’Heir family, who welcomed baby Harper at 12:05 a.m.
About half an hour later, the first baby of the year was born at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Sinai Health said the baby girl was born at 12:32 a.m.
At Etobicoke General, the first baby of 2025 was a boy. He was born at 6:30 a.m., according to the William Osler Health System.
