On Sunday, the city's locals and visitors are set to line streets in the downtown core to watch the 2025 St. Patrick's Day parade.
For those attending the parade, or simply passing by the area, there are several road closures and TTC disruptions to be aware of on the day.
The St. Patrick's Day parade route and road closures
The parade procession begins at noon from Bloor Street West and St. George Street and will continue along Bloor Street before heading south on Yonge Street to Sankofa Square (formerly Dundas Square).
The parade will take place regardless of weather conditions, which are forecast to be rainy and windy throughout Sunday.
Full road closures will occur on Bloor, Yonge and Queen streets, according to Toronto police. Other partial road closures are also expected to impact traffic flow on several secondary streets.
Road closures will begin around 9 a.m. and last until around 1:30 p.m. on the following streets:
- St. George Street from Bloor Street West to College Street
- Devonshire Place from Bloor Street West to Hoskin Avenue
- Sussex Avenue from Huron Street to St. George Street
- Hoskin Avenue from St. George Street to Queen's Park Crescent West
- Harbord Street from St. George Street to Huron Street
- Ursula Franklin Street from Huron Street to St. George Street
Between 11:45 a.m. and 3 p.m., roads will also be closed at Bloor Street from Huron Street to Yonge Street, and at Yonge Street from Bloor Street to Adelaide Street.
TTC service disruptions
Road closures caused by the St. Patrick's Day parade procession will impact service on the TTC's 13 Avenue Road, 19 Bay, 94 Wellesley and 97 Yonge routes.
There are no planned subway closures this weekend.
The TTC said it is "enhancing" subway and streetcar service on Sunday to account for traffic from St. Patrick's Day festivities.
Extra train service will be added on Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth. Additional streetcars will run on the 505 Dundas and 506 Carlton routes.
St. Patrick’s Day Run
The annual St. Patrick’s Day Run will also take place on Sunday.
The race will begin at 10:15 a.m. and will shut down roads between Evergreen Brick Works and River Street from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Rosedale Valley Road between Bayview and Park Road will also be closed.
