Torontonians should expect wet, windy weather beginning Sunday morning, according to an Environment Canada alert.

About 15 to 25 millimetres of rain is anticipated throughout the day, as well as wind gusts of 60 to 80 km/h.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and can cause injury or damage. Locals with high-up exposed balconies should consider removing objects or furniture that can possibly be flung.

Utility outages may occur.

The environmental agency said the "frozen ground" also has a reduced ability to absorb the incoming rainfall.

For that reason, localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible, as well as pooling on the city's roads.

The rainy forecast, which includes a risk of thunderstorms, is expected to end by Sunday night.

Temperatures on Sunday are predicted to reach a high of 14 C during the afternoon, before falling to a low of -2 C overnight.
