Lifelong learners can now sign up for winter programs offered by the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).
Registration is open for a variety of general interest programs through the TDSB's Learn4Life program.
"Join thousands of adults and seniors this winter and register for a general interest course or senior’s program to develop new skills and interests," the TDSB said in a release.
The fee-for-service programs support the board's lifelong learning philosophy and its commitment to academic and recreational courses for adults in a variety of areas.
These include languages, computing, fitness, wellness, music and arts.
Some of the new courses this term include "Making Your Home Smarter," "Classics of Horror," "Wood Carving Introduction," "Strength for Life – Full Body Fitness," and "Portugal’s Iconic Pastel de Nata Workshop."
One learner in the "Chopped! Knife Skills and Kitchen Essentials Workshop" said, “I challenged myself to try out a cooking class to brush up and refine some techniques — best decision ever. I learned new things, met some lovely people and ate some good food."
Another learner in a creative writing course called the course an enjoyable discovery process. “I originally enrolled to explore a different kind of writing than I have done in my business experience and what I found was a community who share and enjoy experiences."
Courses start Jan. 11. Visit learn4life.ca to learn more and register for both in-person and online programs.
