UPDATE: Toronto police say missing child has been located

UPDATE:

The Toronto Police Service (TPS) says a missing child identified as Cassandra, 10, has been located.

The youth has last been seen in the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Ellesmere Road on Saturday at about 10:30 p.m., police said in an earlier release.

The TPS issued an update at around 2 p.m. Sunday saying the child had been found.

The Toronto Police Service (TPS) is asking for the public's assistance locating a missing child last seen Saturday night.

Cassandra, 10, was last seen at around 10:30 p.m. Jan. 4 in the Victoria Park Avenue and Ellesmere Road area.

Cassandra is described as 5'5" tall and 90 pounds with a thin build and short bright pink hair. The child was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and black boots.

Police said they are concerned for Cassandra's safety.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-4100, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or www.222tips.com.

The Canadian Centre for Child Protection's caseworkers are available to support families when their child goes missing, or they fear their child may go missing, police said. For more information, visit MissingKids.ca.

The TPS added that a person can be reported missing at any time — there is no 24-hour waiting period.

Police said if you are concerned for someone's immediate safety, call 911.

Otherwise, you can report a person as missing by calling the police non-emergency number 416-808-2222.
