A Toronto police officer was seriously injured on the northbound Don Valley Parkway Saturday morning during a vehicle collision.
Toronto Police Operations said the collision, which involved two vehicles, occurred around 6:40 a.m. near Bayview Avenue and Bloor Street.
The officer, who has not been named publicly, was inside a stopped police car with its emergency lights activated.
Another driver rear-ended the officer's vehicle, police said.
The officer sustained serious injuries and the other driver was also injured. Both were brought to hospital.
Police said two lanes of the northbound Don Valley Parkway have been closed for investigation.
The on-ramp from Bloor Street to the northbound Don Valley Parkway is also closed.
Drivers have been encouraged to use alternative routes. Delays in the area are expected.
