Since the last list of Bolo's Top 25 was unveiled in April, seven arrests have been announced in connection with the Canada-wide wanted fugitive campaign.

Seven Toronto murder suspects are on a new list of Canada's Top 25 most wanted fugitives and police hope a lucrative rewards program can lead to their arrests.

Eight of the Top 25 suspects are wanted by Toronto Police.

The program, know as BOLO — for "be on the lookout" — is using AI-generated images to add expression and movement to the suspects' photographs to give the public a better idea of who they are looking for.

Since the last list of BOLO's Top 25 was unveiled in April, seven arrests have been announced in connection with the Canada-wide campaign, police say.

They stressed that tips do not need to result in a conviction for a reward to be paid under the program, which started in 2018.

Rewards range from $50,000 all the way up to $250,000.

"All BOLO rewards are offered for any information leading to the arrests of the suspects, period," program director Maxime Langlois said in a release.

"The eventual conviction of these accused has nothing to do with our rewards."

"If your tip is successful, our priority will be to get you the money you deserve as soon as possible, like we've done several times over the past seven years," Langlois said.

Langlois was joined Wednesday by dozens of police officers from 15 law enforcement agencies across the country, including Toronto.

The news conference featured life-sized cutouts of each wanted fugitive, along with BOLO-themed "Advent calendars" featuring the Top 25.

Police said the initiative, which also includes outdoor and digital advertising, has led to arrests in 30 of the 70 fugitive cases it has publicized.
