Toronto police are searching for a suspect in connection to an armed robbery in the Yonge Street and Front Street West area this week.
The suspect, who police identified as Jamal Dabreo, 33, of Toronto, has been accused of robbing a retail store on Monday shortly after 5:30 p.m.
Toronto Police Service (TPS) said the suspect entered an unnamed store and attempted to steal items.
After being unsuccessful in the theft, the suspect allegedly brandished a weapon.
Employees at the store were able to disarm the suspect, TPS reported.
The suspect then fled the area.
Police did not specify what kind of weapon was used in the attempted robbery.
TPS has issued a warrant for Dabreo's arrest.
He is wanted on charges of robbery with an offensive weapon and failure to comply with a probation order.
TPS on Tuesday evening released photos of the suspect, which appear to have been captured by security cameras on a TTC subway platform.
Police described Dabreo as being about 5'10" with a medium build and a dark complexion. Police said he has black hair, was unshaven and has a distinctive scar on his face. He was wearing a brownish-red jacket and blue jeans with a tear on the upper left thigh area and yellow shoes.
