The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating a fatal TTC collision that saw a Toronto man pinned under a bus at Ossington station on Tuesday.

The 55-year-old man, who has not been publicly identified, died in hospital after he sustained life-threatening injuries

In an update on Thursday, the SIU said Toronto Police Service officers at the Ossington station encountered the man who was “behaving in a strange manner.”

Officers spoke to the man, who left the area afterwards.

The SIU said the man “fell onto the roadway” after exiting the station and then “became pinned underneath a TTC bus.”

A post-mortem was conducted on Thursday morning, though results have yet to be released.

Two SIU investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to the case.

Anyone with information in the case has been asked to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529 or to submit a tip online
