Police allege woman has stolen $25,000 worth of clothes from Queen West store

A woman out on probation is wanted in connection with the theft of more than $25,000 worth of merchandise from a clothing retailer in the Queen Street West and Peter Street area, the Toronto Police Service says.

Police say in 20 separate incidents between July and October the woman walked into the store, selected numerous items and proceeded through the exit doors, passing all points of purchase and making no attempt to pay for the items.

Surriff Marie Atkinson, 56, of Toronto is wanted for 20 counts of theft under $5,000 as well as 20 counts of breach of probation, police said.

She is described as 5 ft. tall and 130lbs with brown hair.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Atkinson is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
