Toronto first responders reported three fires in apartment buildings this week, two on Christmas Eve and one on Christmas Day.
The most serious was a two-alarm fire near Yonge Street and Davisville Avenue late Tuesday evening. Toronto Police Services said the “large” fire was in an apartment unit. A woman in her 80s was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The building, which Coun. Josh Matlow identified as 77 Davisville Ave., was partially evacuated.
Matlow said Toronto Fire contained the blaze so it did not spread to other units.
