Police identify Moss Park shooting victim

Police have identified 43-year-old Lyle Pounall as the victim who was shot and killed in the Moss Park neighbourhood on Wednesday night

The Toronto Police Service (TPS) has identified the male victim who was fatally shot in the Moss Park neighbourhood on Wednesday night. 

The shooting occurred shortly after 8 p.m. near Sherbourne Street and Queen Street East. 

Police have since identified the victim as 43-year-old Lyle Pounall.

On Wednesday night, TPS said officers responded to reports of a shooting and arrived to find Pounall with a gunshot wound. 

Life-saving measures commenced and Pounall was transported to hospital, where he later died. 

Police have not provided further information, including where Pounall suffered a gunshot wound or a potential motive for the shooting. 

A description of a suspect, or suspects, has also yet to be released. 

This is the third homicide in Toronto this year.
