A man was pronounced dead Wednesday night following a shooting at Sherbourne Street and Queen Street East in the Moss Park neighbourhood.
Toronto Police Operations said officers were called to the area after receiving reports that a man had been shot shortly after 8 p.m. last night.
It is unclear what preempted the shooting, but police said the suspect, or suspects, fled the area.
The victim was found with a gunshot wound, or wounds, though authorities have yet to release specifics.
He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., police said the unnamed victim died in hospital as a result of the injuries.
Toronto's homicide unit is currently investigating.
Police have yet to release a description of any suspects tied to the case.
Sherbourne Street between Queen Street East and Shuter Street was temporarily closed last night as police investigated.
