Man pronounced dead in hospital after being found wounded downtown

Toronto Police Service says victim in his 20s was found near Bloor Street West and Spadina Avenue

Police say a young man is dead after he was found critically injured on a downtown Toronto street early Sunday.

The Toronto Police Service says that just after 12:30 a.m. a male in his 20s was found with life-threatening wounds near Bloor Street West and Madison Avenue near Spadina Avenue.

He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased, police said.

The homicide unit is now investigating.

Police did not indicate whether the young man was suffering from a bullet wound or knife wound.
