A man was assaulted on a subway platform at Warden Station and sustained non-life threatening injuries on Monday morning.
Toronto police said the victim, an unnamed man in his 40s, was attacked around 6:50 a.m.
The suspect, also a man in his 40s, has been taken into custody.
It is unclear what preempted the assault or if the suspect and victim were known to each other.
Possible charges have yet to be announced.
The victim was transported to hospital.
As a result of the incident, subway service was briefly paused between Victoria Park and Woodbine stations this morning.
Subway service has since resumed.
