Lansdowne Avenue and Bloor Street West assault leads to police search

Authorities allege the suspect approached a minor and asked the youth to take a picture before they were assaulted.

Police released images of the suspect sought in connection to the assault of a minor near Lansdowne Avenue and Bloor Street West.

Toronto Police are currently searching for a suspect accused of physically assaulting a minor in the Lansdowne Avenue and Bloor Street West area. 

The incident occurred on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m., according to a Toronto Police Service (TPS) news release. 

Authorities said the suspect approached an unnamed minor and asked the youth to take a picture. He then directed the minor to a nearby backyard, police claim. 

The minor was allegedly assaulted after they became “uncomfortable” with the situation and attempted to leave.

TPS did not provide specifics of the assault but said the minor “managed to flee the area with minor injuries.”

Police described the suspect as a man, approximately 25 to 30 years old, about 5'10" with a thin build, short black hair and a scruffy beard.
