Toronto Fire Services (TFS) confirmed flames have been extinguished at a Dollarama in Liberty Village, after a fire broke out in the store on Friday morning.

A TFS spokesperson told TorontoToday that firefighters received a call about reports of a fire at the East Liberty Street store shortly before 10:50 a.m.

Fire trucks quickly flooded the area and lined the street, and firefighters entered the building in search of the source.

A sprinkler inside the Dollarama had been activated in response to the smoke and aided firefighting crews in dousing the flames, TFS said.

By shortly after 11 a.m., officials said the fire was put out.

TFS could not yet say what caused the fire. Investigators have been notified of the incident.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

Firefighters are continuing to search the property for "hot spots" and other potential hazards, TFS reported.
