One person was rescued from the roof of a building this morning following a two-alarm fire in east-end Toronto.
Toronto Fire Services (TFS) said as of 8:30 a.m. Sunday, crews remained at the scene on Pape Avenue near Mortimer Avenue in East York.
The fire broke out at around 6 a.m.
TFS said one occupant of the building was rescued from the roof and transferred to hospital by Toronto EMS.
Images from the scene showed firefighters extinguishing a blaze above the Politeia Cafe and Food Bar.

The Toronto Police Service said the person was being treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire was described as being under control.
Roads remained closed in the area as of around 9 a.m.
Fire crews also responded at around 6 a.m. Sunday to the area of Leslie Street and Finch Avenue for reports of a house on fire.
Police said it was unknown if there was anyone inside the building, which appeared to be vacant.
