Emergency crews were responding to a fire in a residential building Monday evening.
Police said there were unknown injuries in the blaze near Queen Street West and Portland Street.
The Toronto Police Service and Toronto Fire were on the scene at around 7:30 p.m.
Police said there were road closures in the area and to expect delays.
There have been several residential fires in the city in recent days.
Toronto first responders reported three fires in apartment buildings last week, two on Christmas Eve and one on Christmas Day.
The most serious was a two-alarm fire near Yonge Street and Davisville Avenue in which a woman in her 80s was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
