Toronto police are searching for an outstanding suspect in connection to a stabbing on Church Street this morning.
The stabbing occurred shortly after 9 a.m. near Church and Maitland streets.
One person was reportedly injured in the attack and has been sent to hospital.
The victim sustained serious but not-life threatening injuries, police said.
Church Street Junior Public School and Le Collège français entered into a hold and secure — an emergency response to a threat or incident in the general vicinity of a school, but not directly on or very near to school property.
The hold and secure at both educational facilities has since been lifted.
Until Friday afternoon, Church Street was temporarily closed between Maitland and Alexander streets as police continued to investigate.
Toronto Police Operations said officers are in the area and searching for a male suspect. Police said the outstanding suspect is Black and was last seen wearing a black, red and blue jacket and black pants.
One other suspect has already been arrested.
Police said the suspects fled the scene on foot after the stabbing.
