Police say a young child in a stroller was taken to hospital Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle near the Rogers Centre.

The driver remained on scene after the incident at around 8:15 p.m. The collision took place at Front Street and John Street, Toronto Police Operations said in a social media post.

Police were on scene and Front Street was closed from Windsor Drive to Blue Jays Way as drivers were being told to expect delays.

Police later said the child's injuries were deemed to be non-life-threatening.

Thousands of people have converged on the area the past several nights as Taylor Swift performs a series of sold-out shows at Rogers Centre.
