Kyle Kaldenbach is facing charges of assault, choking and being unlawfully in a dwelling, police say. He has removed his GPS ankle monitoring bracelet.

Toronto police are searching for an assault suspect who allegedly removed his GPS ankle monitoring bracelet.

The Toronto Police Service (TPS) said Kyle Kaldenbach, 27, of Toronto is due before the courts on charges related to assault, choking, unlawful presence in a dwelling and failure to comply with a release order.

The release order, dated Oct. 4, 2024, mandated Kaldenbach wear an ankle monitor.

Police said Kaldenbach must not come within 200 metres of an address in the Queens Quay West and Rees Street area. TPS alleged Kaldenbach has since gone to the area despite the prohibiting order.

On Tuesday, TPS said Kaldenbach's current location is unknown.

He is now wanted on additional charges of failure to comply with a release order and a surety warrant, a type of arrest warrant that is issued when your surety (the person responsible for making sure the accused appears in court) cancels your bail.

Kaldenbach is described as being 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police at 416-808-5200 or to submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers online or at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
