A dedicated lottery player from Toronto who chooses numbers based on family birthdays is $250,000 richer thanks to a winning ticket he purchased at King’s Food Market on King Street West.
Anderson Lashley, 45, says he'll take a well-deserved vacation with the windfall and pay some bills.
“When I scanned my ticket at the store, I was shocked! I kept repeating to myself, ‘There’s no way this can be real,’” Lashley told OLG Prize Centre staff in Toronto.
The Toronto resident took home the top prize from the Daily Keno evening draw on Dec. 10.
Lashley said once it was confirmed he had won, he shared the news with his siblings.
"At first, they thought I was pranking them,” he said. “I sent them a screenshot of the prize amount, and their disbelief changed to pure excitement!”
“I can’t even begin to explain the feelings that come with winning a prize like this,” Lashley added.
