Frequent passerby on King Street West will be familiar with the bright, lip-shaped LED signage marking the restaurant Pink Sky — a seafood joint that officially shut its doors this week.
Pink Sky, located at 480 King St. W., announced its closure on social media on Thursday. Owners said the restaurant would cease operations by the end of the day.
"We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible guests and team for making Pink Sky a cherished part of the King West community," the restaurant said on Instagram.
The prime real estate in Toronto's Entertainment District isn't expected to stay vacant for long.
"As one chapter ends, another begins," Pink Sky owners wrote. "We’re excited to announce that this space will soon transform into a bold new concept from @inkentertainment — a progressive cocktail bar led by Beverage Director Robin Goodfellow, with a food program headed by Chef Stuart Cameron."
Ink Entertainment owns Pink Sky, as well as many other popular Toronto establishments including the restaurants Kost and Daphne.
Before its closure, Pink Sky was best known for serving up luxurious seafood towers and craft cocktails. Fan favourites like beef tartare and truffle lobster mac and cheese were also dished out to hip Torontonians and visitors.
The venue hosted a number of high profile guests since its opening in 2021, especially around the Toronto International Film Festival season. The likes of stars including Paul Rudd, Kate Mara, Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult have all stepped foot into the once trendy establishment.
The new cocktail bar by Ink Entertainment, which has yet to announce a name, will open to the public in spring 2025.
