Torontonians looking to grab a flight from Pearson Airport to an exotic locale will have some new options next summer courtesy of Air Canada.
The airline on Wednesday announced it will add new services and increase capacity to popular destinations across Europe, the U.S. and Asia in the summer of 2025.
Among the new and restored routes are flights out of Toronto to Prague in the Czech Republic and flights to Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago. Air Canada will also increase the number of flights from Toronto to Rome and Athens.
As the airline industry looks to leave the pandemic travel slump behind, the Canadian carrier said it is adding capacity between Toronto and Stockholm, as well as between Toronto and Madrid.
Air Canada will also sell new flights to Paris, which will be deployed from both Toronto and Montreal across three daily journeys.
Wednesday's announcement saw the airline plan to resume summer seasonal service to Osaka, Japan. Air Canada first launched the non-stop flights to Osaka in summer 2024.
Other Air Canada flight paths to be resumed include from Toronto to Jacksonville, Fla. — the only non-stop service between Canada and the American city.
Lastly, Air Canada said it will add extra daily frequencies from Toronto to Indianapolis, Ind., Boston, Mass., Tampa, Fla. and Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas.
"For customers, Air Canada's transborder flights are timed to allow for easy connections at major hubs with our international network," Mark Galardo, executive vice president of revenue and network planning at Air Canada said in a news release.
"And travellers returning to the U.S. can save time on arrival with the convenience of U.S. customs pre-clearance during their connection in Canada," he continued.
The Toronto-Prague flights will be available between June 6 and Sept. 29. The Port of Spain connection will be year-round starting May 1. The Toronto-Jacksonville service will also be year-round beginning May 22.
