The 97th Academy Awards are tonight and fans of cinema are gearing up for the big event.

It promises expert commentary, surprises and a room full of film lovers.

Glad Day Bookshop
This queer bookstore, open since 1970, is hosting a free watch party. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., while viewing begins at 7 p.m.

Toronto Movies and Outings Group! at Firkin on Yonge
This movie lovers group will be meeting up at Firkin on Yonge to watch the 97th Academy Awards.
The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and general admission tickets are available for purchase here.
Firkin on Yonge's top floor will be in use for this event, and according to the posting, the host will be wearing a moose hat for the first hour of the event.
Yohomo at Three Dollar Bill
A drag show and Oscar's watch party is being held at Three Dollar Bill by Yohomo, an online community dedicated to the arts, culture and nightlife of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
The event is being hosted by Vajayjay Abrams and Midas.
Tickets are available for purchase online or at the door, with the show starting at 6 p.m.
