All good things must come to an end — something Taylor Swift and her fans surely know All Too Well.
After playing six-sold out shows at the Rogers Centre, the Eras Tour concluded its run in Toronto on Saturday. Swift bid an emotional farewell to the city in an Instagram post Tuesday, remarking how her time in Toronto was “incredible.”
“It was awesome to play in Canada after so much time,” she wrote. “As always, the fans in Toronto treated us like it was a hometown show.”
Swift noted she “couldn’t have asked for more love or generosity from the people who came out.”
Some 360,000 fans watched Swift perform during her six-show run, with many Swifties coming in from out of town, or out of the country.
Before the Eras Tour touched down in Toronto, Destination Toronto estimated Swift’s tour would generate $282 million in economic impact, with $152 million coming from direct spending.
According to the payment processing company Moneris, spending in Toronto was up 57 per cent week over week after just the first three days of the Eras Tour in the city. International spending increased by 126 per cent at that time.
Swift isn’t ready to leave Canada just yet. Her next and final leg of the Eras Tour will be in Vancouver, B.C.
Swift noted “emotions have gotten pretty heightened” for her and her team. She wrote that the end of the Eras Tour will bring about “the closing of the most extraordinary chapter of my life so far.”
“See you soon, Vancouver,” Swift added. “We can’t wait to give you all we’ve got for three more shows.
