The City of Toronto is kicking off the holiday season with sparkly lights and a whole slate of events at Nathan Phillips Square.

Starting November 30, the Cavalcade of Lights will once again illuminate Nathan Phillips Square with cultural performances, light installations and family-friendly activities.

Tuesday will see the arrival of Nathan Phillips Square's iconic Christmas Tree, which stands at almost 60 feet and is a white spruce from Bancroft, Ont.

The tree will be decorated with energy-efficient lights and more than 500 ornaments.

On Saturday, Nov. 30, Torontonians can enjoy a night filled with live music, light displays and performances by Zero Gravity Circus, dragon dancers Northern Legs Southern Fists and songwriter Zaynab Wilson Mozayik.

More information can be found on the City of Toronto's website.
