The City of Toronto is kicking off the holiday season Saturday with sparkly lights and a whole slate of events at Nathan Phillips Square.
Starting at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, the Cavalcade of Lights will once again illuminate Nathan Phillips Square.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow will also deliver remarks.
This year, Nathan Phillips Square's iconic Christmas Tree is a 60-foot tall white spruce. The tree will be decorated with energy-efficient lights and more than 500 ornaments. It also gets lit at 6:40 p.m.
The following road closures will be in effect between 3 p.m., and 11 p.m.:
- Queen Street West from Bay Street to University Avenue
- Albert Street between James Street and Bay Street
- York Street between Richmond Street West and Queen Street West
A number of TTC routes will also be diverted during this time. More information can be found on the City of Toronto's website.
