VIDEO: Trump or Harris? We asked Justin Trudeau to answer that question

'I have been very careful about making sure that Americans know that this is their choice to make, and my job as a Canadian prime minister is to stand up for Canada whoever they elect'

Millions of Americans will cast a vote tomorrow to elect a new president, with polls predicting an extremely tight race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

One thing is certain: Whoever wins the White House will receive a congratulatory call from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

A guest on the latest episode of our Inside the Village podcast, Trudeau was asked which candidate he is rooting for south of the border.

“I have been very careful about making sure that Americans know that this is their choice to make, and my job as a Canadian prime minister is to stand up for Canada whoever they elect,” Trudeau said.

“Obviously, we did go through four years of Donald Trump before. His attack on steelworkers, on aluminum workers, on Canadian farmers is well-documented,” the prime minister continued. “We know, also, that even the Democrats — even Kamala Harris — have certain protectionist tendencies as well, and that is par for the course.”
