The TTC continues to prohibit e-bikes and e-scooters until April 15, 2025. Any lithium-ion battery powered micromobility device is banned due to safety concerns and customer complaints. The TTC board approved of this in a December 2024 meeting after a battery explosion and fire on a subway train, along with other incidents across the city.
