Some west-end residents woke to the sight of smoke after a fire involving a fuel delivery truck occurred in the area Sunday morning.
Police said there were no injuries in the incident near Howard Park Avenue and Roncesvalles Avenue, which occurred shortly after 7 a.m.
A Toronto Fire spokesperson confirmed the vehicle was a fuel delivery truck and said the fire appeared to be under the truck.
Dan Vieira, district chief with the fire department's public information office, said a call came in at 7:11 a.m. from someone who saw smoke underneath the vehicle.
He said Toronto Fire crews "put water on it very quickly".
The incident took place at 2145 Dundas St. W., which is the location of Lambert Oil — a home-heating oil delivery company.
One nearby resident told TorontoToday they heard an explosion that "ripped through the neighbourhood".
"I live a few hundred metres away from where this happened and was awoken this morning by what I thought was a bomb exploding, or a semi colliding at full speed with a streetcar."
The resident said about a dozen emergency vehicles arrived at the scene Sunday morning and said Ritchie Street was still closed off eight hours later.

Vieira said no information was immediately available about what the tanker-style truck contained at the time, if anything.
There were other trucks parked immediately near the truck that was being doused with water, photos show.
Vieira said the truck driver remained with the vehicle.
Toronto Police Operations said earlier that roads in the area had reopened.
